Clear terms. No hidden door.
The rules for using Humanity Laws, purchasing books, and managing a membership.
Effective September 9, 2026
Agreement and operator
These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and Humanity Laws Holding LLC, doing business as Humanity Laws. They apply to the Humanity Laws website, memberships, books, AI companion features, and related services. By creating an account, purchasing, or using the service, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Eligibility
Adults may create accounts and purchase
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority where you live if higher, and legally able to enter this agreement. You are responsible for ensuring that your use is lawful where you live. Do not create an account for a child or submit a child’s personal information unless Humanity Laws has expressly introduced a lawful, age-appropriate experience and you have the authority and required consent.
The service
A growing home, not a fixed promise
Humanity Laws provides educational, reflective, creative, community, publishing, and personal-organization experiences. Features may be introduced, changed, paused, or retired. Descriptions marked preview, coming soon, unavailable, staging, or unverified are not promises that a feature is ready. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or that every feature will be offered in every country.
AI companions
Supportive tools, never human authorities
Adam, Eve, and other AI features generate responses using automated systems. Outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or inappropriate for a particular situation. They do not have human consciousness and do not replace your judgment, relationships, faith, qualified professionals, or emergency services. You remain responsible for decisions and should verify important information.
Professional boundaries
Education and reflection—not diagnosis or representation
Humanity Laws does not provide medical diagnosis or treatment, psychotherapy, legal representation, financial advice, or another regulated professional service. Wellness, peptide, civic, legal, financial, spiritual, and relationship content is general educational or reflective information. Consult a qualified professional for decisions requiring professional care. Do not use Humanity Laws for an emergency; contact local emergency services or an appropriate crisis resource.
Accounts
Protect access and provide accurate information
Provide accurate account and transaction information, keep login credentials confidential, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account except to the extent caused by Humanity Laws. We may require verification, limit access, or protect an account when fraud, abuse, security risk, or a legal requirement is reasonably suspected.
Prices and purchases
The checkout controls the exact order
Prices, included features, taxes, shipping, renewal terms, and any promotion are shown before purchase. Membership is $11 USD monthly or $110 USD annually. Current Book prices are $11 ebook, $37 paperback, and $57 hardcover. Customers pay applicable shipping and tax. HARDBOUND is a historical record label only and cannot start a new purchase.
Automatic renewal
Recurring charges require clear, affirmative agreement
Before any recurring purchase is confirmed, checkout must clearly show the adopted amount, frequency, renewal, and cancellation terms and obtain affirmative consent. Humanity Laws will provide a retainable confirmation and legally required reminders. Existing subscriptions remain manageable under their accepted terms; this page does not silently change them.
Digital Book
First eligible Book purchase: one non-stacking 30-day benefit
A first eligible, successfully paid and verified Book purchase includes one 30-day Humanity Laws membership benefit, regardless of formats or quantities. A repeat Book purchase does not create another benefit or extend membership access; permanent Book ownership and purchase records remain. Eligible new or lapsed buyers choose before checkout between free 30 days only, with no recurring charge, and continuing membership at $11 USD monthly beginning when that benefit ends. Recurring billing requires a clear, unselected affirmative choice and the exact renewal disclosure. Existing members never receive a duplicate subscription.
Cancellation
Online, available, and without obstruction
You may cancel a membership at any time through the Stripe-hosted customer portal or another cancellation method we provide. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid or promotional period, and no new renewal charge will be made after the effective cancellation. Access continues through that period unless law, security, or an account remedy requires otherwise. If you cannot access the portal, email hello@humanitylaws.com for assistance.
Refunds and physical returns
Final sales with lawful protections preserved
Subscription charges and delivered digital purchases are generally final and nonrefundable once the applicable period or delivery begins, except where required by law or expressly stated at checkout. Canceling stops future renewals and does not ordinarily create a prorated refund. Physical-book change-of-mind returns are not accepted unless checkout states otherwise. Contact hello@humanitylaws.com promptly about a damaged, defective, incorrect, or undelivered order. A verified refund or lost dispute pauses or revokes affected fulfillment or access while lawful protections remain available.
Books and digital access
Personal access, not redistribution
A membership may include licensed access to digital content while the membership remains eligible. A separately purchased digital book may include continuing personal access as stated at checkout. Books, recordings, prompts, software, designs, trademarks, and other Humanity Laws materials are protected by intellectual-property law. Unless written permission says otherwise, you receive a limited, personal, nonexclusive, nontransferable license and may not reproduce, resell, publicly distribute, scrape, or commercially exploit the materials.
Your content
You keep ownership; you give only the permission needed
You retain ownership of original content you submit. You grant Humanity Laws a limited permission to host, process, transmit, back up, and display that content only as needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the service in accordance with the Privacy Policy and your choices. You represent that you have the rights needed to submit the content and that doing so does not violate another person’s rights or the law.
Acceptable use
Protect people and the house
Do not use Humanity Laws to harm, exploit, threaten, deceive, harass, stalk, discriminate against, or unlawfully profile another person; violate privacy, intellectual-property, or other rights; distribute malware; bypass access controls; interfere with service operation; conduct unauthorized scraping or automated access; impersonate another person; facilitate illegal activity; or use AI output as a substitute for required professional review in a high-impact decision.
Third-party services
Separate providers have separate responsibilities
Payments, fulfillment, hosting, authentication, communications, AI processing, and other functions may be provided by third parties. Their terms and privacy notices may apply to their services. Humanity Laws is responsible for its own obligations but does not control an independent third party’s systems. Links to outside resources are provided for convenience and are not an endorsement unless expressly stated.
Availability and termination
Safety, law, and integrity can require limits
We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address material breach, fraud, abuse, security risk, nonpayment, legal requirements, danger to people, or harm to the service. When practical and lawful, we will provide notice and a reasonable opportunity to address the issue. You may stop using the service at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive—such as payment obligations, ownership, disclaimers, and dispute terms—continue after termination.
Disclaimers
Truthful limits
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Humanity Laws is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every purpose. We do not disclaim warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded. Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that applicable law does not permit us to limit.
Liability
A proportionate boundary
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Humanity Laws and its personnel will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or opportunities arising from the service. Our total liability for claims relating to the service will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid Humanity Laws during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law or to liability that cannot legally be limited.
Disputes and local rights
Start with a direct conversation
Before filing a formal claim, please contact hello@humanitylaws.com and describe the concern so both sides can try to resolve it. If resolution is not possible, a claim may be brought in a court with lawful jurisdiction. Nothing in these terms requires arbitration, waives a class remedy, or removes a mandatory consumer protection, forum, or governing-law right that applies where you live.
Changes and contact
Notice before material change
We may update these terms as the service or applicable requirements change. We will post the new effective date and provide additional notice or consent when legally required. Changes apply prospectively unless law permits otherwise. Questions about these terms, billing, cancellation, or orders may be sent to hello@humanitylaws.com.
